Concrete and Mortar Mixers - Types and Uses in Construction
Concrete and Mortar Mixers
Homogeneous mixing of concrete and mortar is essential for building strength. Choosing the right mixer depends on project size and mixing volume.
Types of Mixers
- Drum Mixer: Most popular at construction sites. 140-400 liter capacities. Electric or diesel powered.
- Mixing Drill: Attachment for drills to mix small amounts of mortar and paint.
- Manual Mixer: For small repair projects. Economical and easy to use.
- Self-Loading Concrete Mixer: For large projects combining mixing and transport.
Concrete Mixing Tips
- Standard mix ratio: 1 cement : 2 sand : 3 gravel.
- Add water gradually until you get the right consistency.
- Don't increase water ratio as it weakens concrete.
- Clean the mixer immediately after finishing.
