First Aid Kit - A Necessity in Every Workshop

Jordanian law requires every workshop and factory to have a first aid kit. But more importantly: it protects workers' lives.

Essential Contents

Cleaning and Disinfection

• Normal Saline for wound washing.
• Betadine for disinfection.
• Medical alcohol 70%.
• Sealed disinfectant wipes.

Dressing Materials

• Sterile gauze in various sizes.
• Medical tape (plaster) in multiple sizes.
• Elastic bandages 5cm and 10cm.
• Medical cotton.
• Adhesive bandages (Band-Aid) regular and waterproof.

Tools

• Medical scissors.
• Tweezers (for splinter removal).
• Nitrile gloves (non-latex) - several pairs.
• Safety pins.
• Instant Cold Pack.

For Burns

• Burn cream (Burnol or Silver Sulfadiazine).
• Special burn dressings.
• Aloe vera gel.

Basic Medications

• Pain reliever (Paracetamol).
• Antihistamine.
• Topical antibiotic cream.

Important Guidelines

1. Hang the kit in a visible location known to everyone.
2. Check contents monthly and replace expired items.
3. Train at least two workers in first aid.
4. Attach emergency numbers to the kit (199 - Civil Defense).
5. Don't lock the kit - it must be easy to open.
